The first decent chance of the game fell to Parscelona after an Ayr defender's header failed to clear the box. There was a mix-up between Grant Cotter and Alan Maxwell but Grant managed to get a shot in. The Ayr keeper pulled off a good save, diving low to his left to push the ball out for a corner.

Ayr however were the first to score, in the 11th minute. Although the ball over the defence had troubled Parscelona, Ayr's goal was eventually to come from a corner. The ball was swung in to the near post where Johnnie MacDougall and Ronz had a slight mix up. Both players were helpless to stop Johnnie's header going into his own goal.

Parscelona levelled it a minute later however. From the kick-off, Grant Cotter broke away and found himself with a perfect chance in front of goal. No mistake, one-one.

Ayr were the better attacking team for the latter part of the second half, putting plenty of pressure on the Parscelona back four, forcing an excellent save from Ronz who managed to tip the ball onto his cross bar. Chris Ozog also had a close shave when his clearance hit his own post in the 22nd minute.

Parscleona held out though, and it stayed one-one until the second half. The Pars had the upper hand as the game progressed due largely to the fact that we had approximately half the population of Dunfermline on the bench.

The breakthrough came in the 53rd minute when Keith Mackie's cool finish put Parscelona ahead. This lead was extended with eight minutes remaining when Ally Mooney's rampaging run from midfield saw him collect the ball in the Ayr box, eventually squeeze it past the defender and fire the ball low past the keeper to make it 3-1.

Parscelona had a chance to bury it completely in the dying minutes but Keith Franklin's run was halted after an offside decision from the over-enthusiastic but incredibly sexy young linesman. :-)
