15/12/02 Parscelona 3 Inter Malamb 3

Dalgety Bay Leisure Centre

Parscelona welcomed Inter Malamb to Fife for their first competitive match on the newly-resurfaced artificial pitch at Dalgety Bay, and an enjoyable game ensued, albeit one which Parsca threw away in the end.

A foul by Craig Lister gifted the Dons a golden opportunity to take a first half lead but Keith Mackie pulled off an impressive save to parry the ball away.

Parscelona took the lead when Jamie Wilson fed the ball to Alan Maxwell on the right hand side. Alan cut back and fired a left-footed cross low into the box, which had little power on it. Yet, somehow, it curled past everyone including the out-rushing Dons keeper and in-rushing Ross Arnott and found its way into the bottom corner of the net, much to everyone's disbelief.

A temporary lack of defence allowed the Sheep to equalise, but Parscelona restored their lead in time for the break when Grant Macleod sent a curling free kick in off the post to notch himself a rare non-deflected goal.

The home team's lead was extended when Neil Holland fired (okay, mis-hit) a cross into the Aberdeen box and, under pressure from Ross Arnott, an unlucky defender turned it into his own net.

The visitors clawed one back when a low ball across the face of goal was missed by everyone before being hit home from close range.

The teams were then drawn level when a stramash on the Parsca goal line saw repeated failed attempts to clear the danger before the ball was somehow bundled over the line.
