09/03/02 Parscelona 3 Kicking Squirrels 3

March 9th 2002

St Leonards Field of Dreams, Dunfermline

This match did not start well for Parscelona when a miskick by Jamie Wilson allowed the Killie striker to nip through and lob neatly over Keith Mackie's head to give the visitors the lead.

Fraser Clark put Parscelona back level again however when his cross somehow found its way through the keepers hands and into the back of the net.

A trio of long range efforts from roaming centre half Johnnie MacDougall all fell wide of the mark and Killie were denied when Keith Mackie spilled a shot but saw the rebound hit wide.

In the second half, another defensive cock-up by a ginger fullback gave Killie the lead once more. This time it was Chris Ozog's turn to look like an arse, and his fouled-up attempt at defending once more allowed the Killie strike force to nab a goal when clean through.

Parscelona fought hard to get back on level terms. Alan Maxwell had two efforts denied; Paul Schyma had a decent effort well saved by the Killie keeper; Colin McKean latched onto Alan Maxwell's lay off to fire a mean shot that was deflected wide by a brave Killie defender who threw himself in the way; and Fraz Clark's through ball to Colin McKean was then knocked back across goal and, under pressure from the Killie goalkeeper, Ross MacGregor fired over the bar from about four centimetres off the line.

Parscelona looked certain to regret these missed chances when Killie extended their lead after their striker nipped round Keith Mackie and finished with style.

The game was not over though, and after Parscelona clawed one back from a Fraser Clark penalty (awarded after a cross was cut out by a Killie hand), Callum Norris almost levelled the scoreline when his shot was deflected into the keeper's arms.

In the dying minutes Parscelona did manage to grab a share of the spoils when a low cross found its way past several players in the Killie box before being tucked away by Ewan Campbell, earning him his first Parsca goal in the process.
