Parcelona 7 - Inter Ma Lamb 3 (Played at McDiarmid Park, Perth) An understrength Inter Ma Lamb (only six Dandies could make it) visited Perth today to play the return match of the friendly series versus Parcelona and can be satisfied at having come away with a smaller margin of defeat and more goals than the last IML performance. IML were boosted by the matchlong transfer of 5 of the Parcelona reserves and were fortunate in having a couple of the products of the Parcelona youth policy playing on their side. IML kicked off into the wind and were soon under imense pressure. Defensive failings were begining to look like IML would suffer a worse defeat than that seen at Keith Park with the team unsure of which positions they were playing in and as the last game completely unaware of what everyone's name actually was. Despite this and the lack of a recognised keeper IML were performing resonably well and managed to keep the score line to 3-0 at half time. Playing with the wind in the second half IML soon perked up and inspired by the play of IML man of the match Gavin Ross soon pulled back to 4-2 with goals by Gavin Ross and Matthew Blyth. Parcelona seemed to be struggling with the damp astroturf and were unable to deploy the longball tactics which had so devestated IML's defence in April. Parcelona were lucky on a couple of breakaways and scored three goals with more than a hint of offside about them to be met by a further goal from Gavin Ross. Final Score Parcelona 7 IML 3 but then we're going to Ibrox next season not Brockville - Ha Ha you minky Dunfermline Barstewards. (Sorry the temptation was too much for an ex-Kirkcaldy boy) Finally thanks to all IML players who made it today and I hope everyone will be giving consideration to being able to play in the Scottish Tourney in July. Regards, Ewan The Sheep in Sainteeland PS Thanks also to those who emailed me to give apologies for not making the game - it was good to know people are interested in our football team even though they couldn't make today. PPS That said there was no one down from Aberdeen for the game today - does no one in the Granite City actually give a monkeys about all things Sheepish (those giving apols above excepted)??
