Inter Ma Lamb 2 - Parcelona 8 By Ewan Dow The Aberdeen mailing list team having only met that morning were defeated by a strong Dunfermline mailing list team at Keith Park on Saturday. Inter Ma Lamb struggled from the start as they a) didn't know each other's names, b) were seriously out of match practise with some exceptions and c) in some cases had never seen Astroturf before never mind playing on it. IML lined up in a 4-4-2 formation and soon abandoned that to play whatever the midfield and forwards fancied (not a hint of sarcasim from a defender in that comment) Seriously - IML struggled to contain the long ball tactics, expertly deployed by Parcelona and were caught out at the back by a combination of the long ball, fast attacking players and defenders whose training regime owed more to John Inglis than Willie Miller. IML sadly lost one of our pivotal players after five minutes when Rob Robertson left the pitch with a wrist injury, later to be diagnosed by ARI as a broken wrist (I'd lay off the Louise pictures for a few weeks if I was you Rob) However Richard his replacement soon slotted into the team. IML showed some good movement at times and certainly showed the raw potential for Leicester, particularily David McGillivray whose two goals at least kept the score line half respectable and Iain McDonald who is the only member of the team to email me to ask that I mention his contribution (actually it was very good - the boy can play). Two things arise from Saturday's game - firstly IML need more squad members - names to Rory or Jack please, and secondly when the squads together we need more practise before games and we need to be fitter. In line with this the sheep about Bridge of Earn have become increasingly worried this past week - oh well, who says exercise has to be without fun. Finally thanks to AFC for the loan of a match ball, some complies for the South Stand and an autographed match ball (still at £30 as I write) , to Jack and Rory for organising Saturday, and to all those who turned up on Saturday and have been expecting a serious match report on the list since then. How did you expect me to write one when I was playing during the game, where were you Andrew S and your reports??
