Well we got a gubbing didn't we. We just don't have a strong enough squad to compete with Hibs. And i blame the weather conditions as they didn't help our sexy flowing football. The hail at the start especially didn't help as everyone turned purple. Match report!! Parsca statrted with a strong wind at there backs and were immediatly under pressure and it was no surprise when Hibs scored the first goal. A corner was swung in from the left, the hibs forward controlled it befor estepping past me and drilling the ball past Maxwell at the near post. It went from bad to worse as they scored again within a couple of minutes to make it 2-0. This temporarily woke up Parsca and Grant Cotter almost finished of a good move when he cracked the crossbar. But this was only a short show of resistance as Hibs went up the pitch and made it 3-0. But then a ray of hope in the hail and wind, in a rare Parsca attack ALLY MOONEY had a shot deflected into the net for a clear own goal :-) This must have annoyed hibs as they rattled in 4 more goals to make it 7-1 at halftime. Can't remember individual details of the goals but at least 3 of them came from people dwelling to long on the ball adn trying something fancy instead of booting the ball. I think the Hibs 6th goal came from an attempted JAMIE WILSON clearence when he ended up on his arse. So with a strong wind into the face's of the brave Parsca troops they started the second half with only one thing on there minds, the pub. But in one of the best defensive displays in living memory assisted with having a goalkeeper in goals instead of Alan :-) they held the swarming Hibs forces at bay until with ten minutes to go ALLY got injured throwing himself at the Hibs forwards shot. Alan went back in goals and performed on miracle save but was beaten once more when a scranble in the box resulted in DAVIE G getting robbed of the ball and they scored again to make the final score 8-1. I reckon we did get out our own half once in the 2nd half when GRANT missed a 1 on 1 with the keeper so he takes full blame for the defeat :-) Big thanks to the referee who i'm sure blew his whistle early due to my insistent begging.
